Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area (AABA)
AABA is the largest local Asian American bar association in the country and is one of the largest minority bar associations in California. The organization provides Asian American attorneys with a vehicle for the unified expression of opinions and positions on matters of concern to all Asian American attorneys. AABA encourages and promotes the professional growth of its members through the provision of continuing legal education and the exchange of ideas and information among its members and with the legal community at large. AABA advocates for diversity in the legal profession and sends delegates to the annual State Bar Conference of Delegates. AABA also serves the Asian American and minority communities by using its resources and expertise to serve the public interest through legal clinics and other programs, including its frequent cooperation with Asian American community groups on issues that affect its members and its community.
Association of Defense Counsel (ADC), Southern & Northern California
The ADC is a professional organization devoted to representing the interests of attorneys engaged in the defense of civil litigation. The ADC provides its members a range of support and services geared specifically for their practice, including providing continuing legal education, interaction with the judiciary on issues of state or local interest to defense practitioners, representation on proposed legislation, and networking opportunities. Several LBBK attorneys actively participate in ADC events.
Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI)
The AWI is a professional membership association of attorneys, human resource professionals, private investigators, and others who conduct, manage or have a professional interest in workplace investigations. The mission of the organization is to promote and enhance the quality of impartial workplace investigations. AWI is recognized as the innovative leader in knowledge, standards, credentialing, and advocacy of impartial workplace investigations. LBBK attorneys regularly participate in AWI events, lead local AWI meetings, participated in AWI’s Training Institute, and are AWI certificate holders.
California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP)
LBBK is an active member of the CMCP, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting diversity in the legal profession by providing attorneys of color with access and opportunity for business and professional development. CMCP works with the State Bar of California, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel – America, as well as many local bar associations and professional associations to help achieve diversity and inclusion within law firms and in-house law departments, and in the outside counsel spend of corporations and government agencies.
Filipino Bar Association of Northern California
Established in 1980, the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California (“FBANC”) is an organization of attorneys, judges, law students and paraprofessionals dedicated to serving the Filipino American legal community in Northern California. Through the volunteer work of its members, FBANC offers various programs and events, including regular free legal clinics, professional development and mentorship programs for its law student and attorney members. The organization also provides a voice for and advocates on behalf of Filipino American interests in various forums.
Lawyers Club, San Diego
Founded in 1972, the mission of the Lawyers Club is to advance the status of women in the law and society. Lawyers Club is the largest specialty bar association in San Diego with members of all genders, including attorneys at public agencies, law firms, federal and state judges, U.S. Attorneys, District Attorneys, Public Defenders, Federal Defenders, law students and others in the community. Several of our attorneys regularly participate in Lawyers Club events.
National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF)
LBBK is a proud member of NAMWOLF, a legal organization comprised of AV-rated firms across the nation that represent major corporate clients, including private/public entities. The organization strives to promote diversity in the legal profession. Our attorneys actively participate in the NAMWOLF’s Labor and Employment, and Restaurant, Retail & Hospitality Practice Area Committees; they serve on subcommittees and regularly speak at NAMWOLF conferences and webinars.
National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA)
NITA is a nonprofit service organization made up of a volunteer network of lawyers, judges, and esteemed advocates across the globe. Since 1971, they have provided the legal advocacy skills that allow the advancement of people, the legal profession, and the pursuit of justice. NITA gives lawyers the opportunity to learn and refine their skills without the stakes of a real courtroom.
Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS)
PLUS is a professional organization that provides essential knowledge, leadership and career development opportunities for the professional liability insurance industry through professional liability educational programs and seminars, networking events, educational products, and the dissemination of information. Our attorneys regularly attend and speak at PLUS conferences.
Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
LBBK attorneys actively participate in SHRM, a non-profit association of human resource professionals focused on providing comprehensive training, information and resources, and advancing the practice of human resource management. Our attorneys participate in both the San Diego and the Inland Northwest (Washington and Idaho) chapters of SHRM. They serve on various SHRM committees, actively participate in chapter initiatives, speak at conferences and webinars, and have served on the Board of Directors, including as the VP of Conferences, and as Past President, President-Elect, and Vice President of Legislation.
South Asian Bar Association, San Diego
LBBK regularly sponsors a table at the South Asian Bar Association of San Diego (SABA-SD) Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony. SABA-SD is a voluntary bar association dedicated to the advancement and development of attorneys and law students interested in issues affecting the South Asian community. Through professional development activities, community outreach and education programs, community legal services efforts, networking and referral opportunities, SABA-SD benefits the community at large
Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA)
TIDA is a nonprofit association with members devoted to reducing the cost of claims and lawsuits against the trucking industry. Founded in 1993, TIDA has become the organization of choice for over 1,600 motor carriers, trucking insurers, defense attorneys and claims servicing companies. Members work to develop strategies and share knowledge to defend the trucking industry in personal injury, property damage, workers’ compensation and cargo claims. One of our partners actively participates in TIDA’s activities.
