Chelsea Yamabe

Overview

Ms. Yamabe is a member of the firm’s General and Professional Liability Practice Group, where she focuses her advocacy on the defense of individuals and entities faced with claims of personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, professional negligence, and tort liability. Her experience litigating in this arena began at a boutique civil litigation firm in San Diego, where she spent nearly ten years defending a major Southern California theme park in cases involving ride-related incidents, slip-and-falls, and animal interactions. Simultaneously, she represented personal injury plaintiffs in vehicular and premises liability litigation. There, Ms. Yamabe’s diverse practice also encompassed cross-border disputes, business torts, and intellectual property litigation in both state and federal court.

Prior to joining LBBK, Ms. Yamabe was employed at a preeminent national defense firm, where she honed her skills as a negotiator and litigator. Her practice included the representation and defense of grocery stores, landscape contractors, transportation companies, restaurants, and gas stations. She also handled numerous first party underinsured and uninsured motorist matters, resolving all prior to arbitration.

Ms. Yamabe was born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii, but has resided in California since 2001. San Diego has been her “home away from home” for 17 years. Outside of her practice, Ms. Yamabe spends most of her time at home watching Bluey and Star Wars with her partner Arlen, their toddler-aged son Jack, and their dogs. She is passionate about advocating for shelter animals, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disneyland trips, and is a student of unique fitness practices such as poling and hooping.
