Gabriel Kontarovsky represents employers in federal and state court against legal claims including wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, discrimination, wage and hour claims and claims brought under the Private Attorney General Act. Mr. Kontarovsky also advises employers on personnel issues regarding hiring, discipline, termination, leaves of absence, employee classification, and wage and hour issues.
Prior to joining LBBK, Mr. Kontarovsky was an associate at a boutique litigation firm, where his practice included litigating labor and employment disputes. While there, he gained extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation from pre-litigation through trial and appeal. Mr. Kontarovsky also has significant experience drafting, arguing, and prevailing on dispositive motions, pre-trial motions, and appellate briefs. The results of his appellate briefing include the published decision in C.I. v. San Bernardino City Unified School District (2022) 82 Cal.App.5th 974 in which the court of appeal affirmed summary judgment for his clients.
Mr. Kontarovsky received his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law. During law school, Mr. Kontarovsky served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Ronald S.W. Lew of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Outside of the law, Mr. Kontarovsky enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and traveling. He is also fluent in Spanish.
