Bessie (Isabella) Mafud

Overview

Ms. Mafud is an associate in the Tort and Professional Liability Practice Groups in the firm’s Los Angeles office. She handles complex, high exposure personal injury matters, including cases involving insurance fraud. She also defends matters involving wrongful death, catastrophic injury, products liability, premises liability and trucking and transportation cases. Ms. Mafud’s professional liability practice involves the defense of a variety of professionals, including real estate brokers and agents, insurance agents, design professionals, and accountants.

Ms. Mafud has a strong background in civil litigation defense and extensive experience representing major corporate clients in state and federal courts. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Mafud defended public and private entities in various personal injury matters. She also represented various professionals, including officers and directors of private companies against claims arising from errors, omissions, or negligence in their fiduciary capacity.

Ms. Mafud is admitted to practice in California and before the United States District Court, Central District as well as the Eastern District, Southern District and Northern District. She is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Ms. Mafud is an active member of the Latina Lawyers Bar Association, Mexican American Bar Association, and the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.

Outside of her law practice, Ms. Mafud enjoys spending time with her family and two Akita Inu puppies. She is a fan of the performing arts, and you may spot her at the LA Opera or Disneyland.
