James McDermed

Overview

James McDermed is a senior associate attorney in our Los Angeles office, focusing on general and professional liability matters.  Before joining LBBK, Mr. McDermed worked for a mid-sized Southern California litigation firm where he handled countless matters across a wide variety of practice areas, routinely obtaining dismissals, no-fault judgments, and favorable settlements through law and motion practice.

Over the years, Mr. McDermed has successfully defended individual and corporate clients in direct and third-party suits, ranging from garden-variety negligence cases to complex actions involving mass torts, employment, construction, business disputes, transportation, and products liability.  Most recently, his attention to detail and insight established an absolute defense to liability early on in several multi-party actions, thereby safeguarding his clients against substantial exposure.

Mr. McDermed is an accomplished guitarist and apart from law practice, he enjoys writing and playing music.
