Mr. Birmingham is Senior Counsel in the GL/PL group in the firm’s San Diego office. He has been defending professional negligence cases and catastrophic personal injury cases for 39 years and has achieved multiple defense verdicts for his clients. He also frequently obtains early resolution for his clients through motions for summary judgment and motions, judgement on the pleadings and mediation. Mr. Birmingham has also worked for two prominent plaintiff’s attorneys in San Diego, handling medical malpractice, product liability, and catastrophic personal injury cases. Mr. Birmingham has the unique advantage of litigating high value cases on both sides of the fence, and he uses this advantage to anticipate the plaintiff’s strategy and stay one step ahead in defending his clients when they are facing significant potential damages.
Mr. Birmingham earned his law degree from Western State University College of Law in 1987, where he graduated in the top 5 percent of his class. He also served as Editor in Chief for the Law Review. He has earned an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubble. In his time away from work, Mr. Birmingham thoroughly enjoys spending time with his two young grandchildren, with a third on the way. He has been married to his wife, Pam, since 1987.
