Mark I. Melo serves as Senior Counsel at Lagasse Branch Bell + Kinkead, where he is a leader in the firm’s Law and Motion Practice Group. With over 28 years of litigation experience, he plays a key role in developing pre-trial strategies, preparing and coordinating dispositive motions, and supporting trial teams with critical briefing and oral advocacy.

Mr. Melo’s practice includes premises liability, product liability, and public entity defense, with experience representing grocery retailers, restaurants, property managers, and private security companies. He has successfully argued before the California Court of Appeals and is known for his precision in handling complex procedural issues.

In addition to his litigation work, Mr. Melo mentors junior attorneys and law clerks, and regularly delivers MCLE programs on motion practice, discovery disputes, and procedural strategies.

Outside of the firm, Mr. Melo is an active supporter of youth theater and civic arts programs in his community.
